The Falsterbo Museum was built in 1940 and was given its current name in 1968, from previously having had the name "Falsterbo Nature Conservation and Archaeological Society" since the beginning of 1930 .
The museum has a wide and interesting collection that reflects the history of the region from the Stone Age, the Viking Age, shows models of castles from the 13th-14th century and Falsterbo's great days where "herring objects" and ceramics from the past are highlighted. Also items from the postal service which were established in 1768 and the railway that ended in 1971 are here together with an amber collection.
You will also find interior from an old grocery shop and a collection of different birds and animals that have been around the Falsterbonäset over the years. There are many other collections, we recommend a visit so you will know the history of Vellinge Municipality and especially the history of Falsterbo and Skanör even better.
